Today there are a multitude of therapists, coaches, healers and gurus out there, all offering to support you and solve your problems with a long list of promised results.
The choice is overwhelming, on the high-street and online. But where and how can you find what you uniquely need? Who can you trust?
Take a breath. I would say pause rather than panic. There is no rush to find the right person. Like dating… or buying a house… or any other significant decision, it is a process that takes time. With a therapeutic or spiritual guidance relationship, it is a process that needs to take time — so you can find the practical pieces of information as to who, what, where, when, how often and how much — and so you can tune-in to your internal guidance and open-out to the external opportunities that arise for you.
A first tentative step on a healing journey…
When looking for a practitioner, the delicate process of wanting, looking, trying, finding, rejecting, seeking, agreeing to work with someone, etc., are all parts already of the healing and evolving journey itself. The journey doesn’t begin with a practitioner – it began already with your decision to find resources to support positive change for yourself. Finding the right practitioner is already something like step five on the journey towards your fuller health. So relax and enjoy the adventure…
It is less important to find a technique, even one that’s recommended by others, than it is to find good chemistry with a practitioner. If you feel relaxed, safe, trusting someone, that’s a good place to be.
For myself, it is my pleasure to work with you. I don’t do it for money, (although there needs to be, for the health of both parties, an exchange of what is given and received.) I work with people because it is what I know and am capable of, having trained for it formally and informally. I love the ways we are all similar and so very different. My role as a practitioner is to honour the people who train with me, sharing the energy and wisdom I have gathered, and for us to travel together onwards… In essence I am a guide, like a craftswoman with their creative apprentice, both equal artisans, each at a different stage of their developmental journey. If you like the sound of that, maybe I am right for you.
From my perspective there is no obligation for a client to work with me rather than the next capable practitioner. A prospective client is welcome to come closer, to have a look at me and my work, and to go away again until if, or when, the time is right. There is no neediness from my side, no emotional hole I am requiring a potential client to fulfil, and so you will feel that I am free to meet you, without power struggle or manipulation, and you are free to choose what feels right.
Getting the healing support you need for positive change
The point of all this is for you to get what you need. If you book a free call with me to find out more, or try a personal session or group event, I will meet you where you are at that time. I will attune, calibrate myself to what you need. I have loads to offer, not from small needy me, but from the big well-resourced, very-sensitive, full-of-love me, that looks forward to meeting and working with you. And if I am not the right practitioner for you, I will happily recommend you on to excellent others.
How is it that one knows when one is ready? Or not ready? It is as if the desire for growth comes from the soul and the soul knows exactly what one needs next… There is something mysterious about the meeting and matching of a client and practitioner, the timing and synchronization of this important perhaps sacred relationship… A long time ago, after seeing a therapist for a while, my horoscope was read and it spoke about recent changes taking place. This made me re-evaluate, I had thought I had made the changes, but then realised perhaps it was not just me who was doing it – perhaps there is a much larger force that wants us to heal and develop?… Perhaps our individual healing is not just for me me me, but is in service to the larger whole, to us all co-creating a much more beautiful world.
In short, make the practical effort necessary to find the sort of practitioner you think you are looking for – and trust – it will become obvious who is the right practitioner for you to work with for now.
